Foods That Speed Aging

To avoid aging too quickly, cut back on all of the following foods:

1. Avoid sugar, sugary foods, and especially foods that contain high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). High fructose corn syrup is called by several names. Read the labels. If you see the words corn syrup or fructose do not put it in your shopping cart. All these foods increase Advanced Glycation End Products* (AGE’s), but HFCS causes 10 times more formation of AGE’s than glucose! HFCS is found in sweetened drinks, and many processed foods like ketchup and salad dressing.  It is inexpensive and abundant, but it is ruining our health. Moderation in all things is the rule here – begin to cut back. Also beware of the dangerous artificial sweeteners. There are some natural sweeteners that are good and sugar in moderation is fine if you don’t already have a problem.
2.  Avoid corn based foods such as corn oil, corn chips, corn cereal and again HFCS. Much of the corn that is produced today has been genetically modified. Corn based foods and corn oil contain excessive amounts of omega-6 fatty acids which causes an imbalance in the omega-6 to omega-3 oils. This leads to higher LDL levels – the lousy cholesterol that leads to heart related problems such as stroke and heart attack. Too much omega-6 also leads to inflammation and oxidation.
3.  Avoid soybean, canola, sunflower, cottonseed, corn and other vegetable oils. They are inflammatory. Instead use extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil or hemp seed oil.
4. This may be controversial, but there is recent evidence that warns us against wheat -even whole wheat. Today’s wheat is not the same wheat that our grandparents and even parents grew up on. It has been crossbred too often. It contains a carbohydrate called amylopectin-A that spikes blood sugar to higher levels than most other carbs. These create AGE’s in your body that speed up the aging process. They damage our organs, joints and cause our skin to wrinkle. Furthermore, wheat contains a gut damaging gluten. A great alternative is sprouted bread, such as Ezekiel bread.™
