Eat like the cave men ate, whole and natural.
Drink a lot of water – filtered is better; fresh, filtered alkaline water is best. Drink half your body weight in ounces. Water will speed up your metabolism and help you loose weight.
Eat more fruits and vegetables – fresh or frozen. Grow some of your own. If you live in an apartment get some pots to put on your patio and grow some tomatoes, spinach, lettuce… For the rest buy organic when you can.
Use extra virgin olive oil instead of butter on your cooked vegetables or baked potato.
Get some free Vitamin D by going outside to get some sun. It will boost your mood.
Carry healthy snacks with you – baby carrots, sliced cucumbers, an apple…
Eat more avocadoes, fish and nuts to get heart healthy omega 3. Good sources are wild salmon, anchovies, tuna, lake trout, sardines. Walnuts, flax, flaxseed oil, canola oil and olive oil are also great. Omega 3s reduce the risk of stroke and heart attack. It’s also been known to reduce joint pain, lower depression, help with ADHD, Alzheimers, dementia…
Decrease the gut by eating yogurt, blueberries and fiberous foods… and yes, exercise.
Psyllium fiber (Metamucil) will help lower cholesterol.
Eat organic meat. The protein is superior and will help you lose weight and inches.
Do not go overboard on any one food. Variety, as supplied in nature is best.
Avoid sodas and other carbonated beverages! Avoid processed foods. They often contain man made chemicals, preservatives and too much sugar and salt that is disguised under another name. Do not be a fanatic about this or your resolutions will not last – unless you need to do something drastic.
Take time to relax. Lay down or even sit back for 5 minutes. Breathe deeply. If you have a sit down job, stand and stretch often.
Laugh and have a little enjoyment each day.
