Broken Resolutions

Have you been able to keep your New Years Resolutions? To have lasting change, there must be change on the inside. How can that happen? Quit struggling and ASK God for help. The number one reason that we don’t have, is because we do not ASK.  John 16:24 tells us to ask so that our joy will be full.  Just before He died on the cross, Jesus told his disciples to ask in His Name. God answers our prayers because of who Jesus is and because of what He has done for us. It has nothing to do with our goodness.  No one is good enough for God anyway.  That’s why He died for our sins and rose again on the third day.  He wants to give us everything that is good for us.  He came to this earth to give us a rich, satisfying and full life.  John 10:10.  Ask Him for help in the areas that you are struggling in and He will help you.  John 15:5 tells us that we can not do anything apart from Him. Quit living with guilt, blame, and shame and become a happy Christian.  Give your struggles, worries and cares to God and then go on being joyful.  I Peter 5:7.   God doesn’t want to keep any good thing from you. Psalms 84:11.  If it is good for you, He will give it to you.  Believe that and be happy.

Are you trying to change someone else? Impossible. Only God can change them. Quit trying. Leave it to God to convict them and bring the change. You’ll be much happier if you do.

One more thing. ASK is not a blank check. He’ll only give you what is good for you and what will bring you joy and happiness. Read James 4: 1,2.   Other verses on this subject: John 14:12-14, John 15:7,16, John 16:23, 24, I Thessalonian 5:16, Philippians 4:4, Proverbs 17:22.
